Supplier Profile: Pro Chef

Here at True North, we regularly work with local suppliers to create the dishes you know and love. When developing our latest seasonal menus, we enlisted the help of Chesterfield based company Pro Chef to produce our duck liver, raspberry and gin pâté – using our very own Sheffield Dry Gin!

Pro Chef are a company steeped in history; starting as a small family business back in the 1920’s the Sheffield family first produced the famous Sutherland’s potted meat paste, made by Mary Sutherland in the cellar of her home. Years later, great-grandson William and his father Alistair, decided to continue the family business after noticing the pâté and terrine market was saturated with poor quality products containing low percentages of meat and high percentages of filler and additives. Their roots in the food industry and passion for quality thus inspired the Pro Chef brand.

Fast forward to, 2019 Pro Chef now produces a vast range of innovative pâté and terrine products made by chefs, for chefs. Whilst they have experienced immense growth over the past three years their pledges towards consistency, provenance and a “clean label” product have remained. Their shared values with the True North brand made them the ideal supplier to work with.
