Everybody’s talking about Jamie… And Sheffield!
On 27th – 28th June we are excited to be attending the 2018 Meeting Show at Olympia London. In collaboration with Marketing Sheffield, we are representing our city to demonstrate that ‘Great things start in Sheffield’ along with Sheffield Theatres, Sheffield Hallam University, The University of Sheffield, SIV Events and Megaverse.
It comes at a fantastic time for Sheffield, when everybody is, in fact, talking about the Award Winning West End musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Warp Films have announced that they are turning Jamie Campbell’s true story from stage to screen. A Sheffield musical that was inspired by a BBC Three Documentary and tells the tale of a 16-year-old who wanted to go to his prom in a dress.
The event itself is an exhibition for event, meeting, conference and incentive planners from the UK and Europe. Attendees will be given the opportunity to visit Sheffield through a VR experience, taking them from a busy London venue to our picturesque part of the country. Destination experts will be on hand to talk about hosting great events in Sheffield and they’re giving away a VIP Jamie prize too!
If that doesn’t sound amazing enough, you’ll also be able to hear more from True North Brew Co’s Event Manager, Lucy Allen as she gives a demonstration of the first Gin to be distilled and bottled in Sheffield in over 100 years; The Sheffield Dry Gin.
We’re proud to be representing Sheffield alongside such credible establishments. Especially as Sheffield Hallam University gave a helping hand in kick starting the Gin making process back in 2015, when their Alumni team provided Hallam graduate and True North employee, Bobby Jones with a grant to buy the first, small brewing still. In which he developed the initial recipe of the Sheffield Dry Gin before presenting the idea to our Founder, Kane Yeardley.
Fast forward to today and in a city that is so passionate about supporting its local produce, the popularity and demand of the Gin has grown so much that it is now joined by unique seasonal gins. Head Brewer, Dean Hollingworth produces quality beers, coffee, Sheffield Vodka and of course, Gin right from the heart of our very own Brewery and Gin Distillery.
The handcrafted Gin contains a touch of Sheffield Honey and a dash of Henderson’s Relish, two of Sheffield’s well-loved produce, along with many more delicious ingredients. There’s Peak District goodness in every sip, combining local botanicals and pure Sheffield water to create a great Yorkshire spirit.
Attendees will taste samples of our Gin collection; Raspberry and Pomegranate, Moorland Berries, Summer Cup and Marmalade before being invited to vote for their favourite Sheffield Gin. The winning flavour will be announced by actors from the musical.
